A Message from the Chair - Continued
....This site was designed to provide the symbol with its own identity, separate from the NCCRT or its member organizations, and to provide an information resource for everyday people looking to learn about the fight against colon cancer. The site also aims to provide the resources you've told us you need as you look to promote the Blue Star: access to high quality artwork, templates with ready-made language, and information on ordering blue star pins. Please feel free to pass it along or link to it where you see fit.
NCCRT also recognized the outreach potential of sites like Facebook, as more and more people are using sites like these to demonstrate their support for a cause. To join our new Facebook group, Facebook users can log on and search for the group “Blue Star for Colon Cancer,” or join directly from the homepage of bluestarforcoloncancer.org.
And because nothing captures the power of the Blue Star like a personal photo, NCCRT has established a presence on the popular photo-sharing site Flickr. Flickr provides yet another avenue for the greater colon cancer community to share their connection to the Blue Star and further extend its reach beyond our membership base. To check out our Flickr page or add your own photos, please click on the Flickr icon on the homepage of bluestarforcoloncancer.org.
Many thanks to members of the Blue Star Task Group, particularly Chair Amy Manela, for all their work in creating these resources, as we work to bring the Blue Star’s message of hope to people around the world.
As always, if you have any suggestions about how to make any of these tools better. Please let us know. Thank you for your support
Sincerely,
Thomas K. Weber, MD FACS
