Hello NCCRT Members and 80% Partners, As 2019 draws to a close, we reflect on the incredible community of colorectal cancer screening champions that is working together to achieve 80% in Every Community. We are continually inspired by your passion, your persistence, your innovation, and the kindness that you put into your work to prevent more cancers and save more lives. It’s a privilege to work with you. We are writing to share a couple updates before many of you take a break for the holidays. This will be our last news update for 2019, but we are already excited to continue our work with you in 2020. In the meantime, thank you for all the good work that you do and best wishes for a very happy holiday season!

Registration Now Open: Webinar on Colorectal Cancer Screening Data Trends

Webinar: What do the Data Tell Us: What can we learn from the latest colorectal cancer screening rate trends over time? Date: January 30, 2020 Time: 12:00 to 1:00 PM ET Registration is now open for our next webinar on Thursday, July 30 from 12:00 to 1:00pm ET, during which we’ll look at the latest data that informs how we are doing as a nation with our efforts to reach an 80% colorectal cancer screening rate. The webinar will include a review of the key colorectal cancer screening data sets: BRFSS, NHIS, HEDIS, and UDS. You will hear from experts as they give an update on where we are progressing and where we still need to focus, to help inform your work ahead. (Note: this webinar is a repeat of a panel that was hosted at the 2019 NCCRT Annual Meeting.) Speakers include: Djenaba Joseph, MD, MPH, Centers for Disease Control & Prevention; Stacey Fedewa, PhD, American Cancer Society; Mary Barton, MD, MPP, National Committee for Quality Assurance; and Minh Nguyen, PharmD, MPH, Health Resources and Services Administration. The webinar is open to NCCRT members, 80% partners, CDC grantees, ACS staff, and new partners interested in getting engaged in colorectal cancer screening efforts. You must be pre-registered to join.

Reminder: Request for Feedback: 80% in Every Community Strategic Plan

In January 2020, the NCCRT will release the 80% in Every Community Strategic Plan, which serves as a roadmap for helping communities and organizations in reaching our shared goal of achieving 80% colorectal cancer screening rates nationwide. From December 12, 2019 to January 8, 2020, the NCCRT will be taking comments on the current iteration of the plan, and we invite our membership as well as other interested partners in taking time to provide feedback. Comments will be reviewed by an advisory committee and considered for any content changes prior to final publication of the strategic plan. Please email [email protected] with any questions.
