The session will be introduced and moderated by Heather Hampel, MS, CGC, Associate Director of the Division of Clinical Cancer Genomics and Professor in the Department of Medical Oncology & Therapeutics Research at City of Hope. Featured speaker Xavier Llor, MD, PhD, Professor of Medicine and Director of the GI and Pancreatic Cancer Prevention Program in Digestive Diseases at Yale School of Medicine, will present findings from a recent study evaluating the cost-effectiveness of three Lynch syndrome (LS) screening strategies for patients with colorectal cancer (CRC).

Dr. Llor will compare current standard practice, an optimized screening pathway, and universal upfront germline testing. The study found that strategies to increase LS testing rates—including universal germline testing—can be cost-effective, improve quality-adjusted life expectancy, and identify more individuals with Lynch syndrome.
