Blue Star Conversation: July 9, 2025

2025 Supreme Court Case Update: How Braidwood v. Kennedy Could Affect Insurance Coverage for CRC Screening
We are excited to announce our upcoming Blue Star Conversation, a series of one-hour programs that feature a brief and topical presentation or interview followed by small group member discussions and regrouping for key takeaways.
Join fellow ACS NCCRT members and Comprehensive Cancer Coalitions on Wednesday, July 9, from 1:00-2:00 PM ET for the latest ACS NCCRT Blue Star Conversation, titled “2025 Supreme Court Case Update: How Braidwood v. Kennedy Could Affect Insurance Coverage for CRC Screening.” The program will feature a non-partisan panel discussion of policy experts who will discuss the implications of the soon-to-be announced Braidwood v. Kennedy Supreme Court decision. Oral arguments for the case were heard in Spring of 2025 and examine the authority of the United States Preventative Services Task Force (USPSTF) to set provisions for most privately insured (and those covered by Medicaid expansion) people to receive preventative care without cost-sharing, including CRC screening. After the presentation, participants will have an opportunity to discuss the implications of the case and outcome, including how it may affect their work and services.
Speakers:
- Molly McDonnell, Director of Advocacy, Fight Colorectal Cancer, Co-Chair of the ACS NCCRT Policy Action Strategic Priority Team
- Mary Rouvelas, JD, Senior Counsel, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network
