New Resource Webinar: Colorectal Cancer Screening in Rural Communities Best Practices Guidebook

Learn more about the newest resource that the ACS NCCRT will release to help increase CRC screening rates in rural communities!

People living in rural, remote, and frontier settings face higher CRC incidence and mortality rates, increased prevalence of risk factors associated with CRC, and unique barriers to cancer screenings when compared to non-rural residents. Next month, the ACS NCCRT will release a best practice guidebook designed to support key community partners in understanding and overcoming the unique challenges and common barriers to CRC screening faced in rural communities.

Register to join us for a webinar on Monday, July 28th from 3:00-4:00 PM ET to learn more about this upcoming resource and receive an overview of recent data and statistics that illustrate the burden of CRC in rural areas, an outline of the five recommended steps to increase CRC screening rates in rural communities, and a deep dive into best practices and lessons learned from two of our five exemplary case study site interviewees.

Speakers:

  • Emily Bell, MPH, Director, ACS NCCRT (moderator)
  • Mary Carson Brown, CHES, Project Coordinator, One Health Insights
  • Cara Brown, MSN, MBA, RN, Population Health Nurse, Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation (Alaska)
