Welcome to the latest edition of CRC News, the American Cancer Society National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable (ACS NCCRT) newsletter for ACS NCCRT members and partners working together to save more lives from colorectal cancer. We wish you all a very productive World Cancer Day!


Join Us for the 2026 National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month Webcast 

Celebrate National Achievements and Hear the Latest State of the Field Updates 

Mark your calendars! Our annual National Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Awareness Month webcast will take place on Wednesday, March 18, from 2:00–3:00 PM ET. This virtual event will spotlight national achievements across the CRC community and provide the latest state‑of‑the‑field updates that guide our collective efforts to reduce CRC mortality and disparities. Please stay tuned for speaker announcements—and plan to join us as we unite under this year’s theme: “Uniting for Equity Across the CRC Continuum.” 

The webcast is free and is open to ACS NCCRT members, ACS and ACS CAN staff, and other partners working to increase colorectal cancer screening rates. Pre-registration is required. 


Call to Members and Partners for March Events, Resources and Opportunities 

Have Your Work Highlighted in CRC News and on ACS NCCRT Social Media 

The ACS NCCRT invites members and partners to share their events, resources, and opportunities for others to get involved in their work while celebrating March as National CRC Awareness Month. We are looking to highlight: 

  • New CRC-related resources (published since January 2025
  • State, regional, or national CRC-related events in March 2026 
  • State, regional, or national CRC-related opportunities in March 2026 
  • With rare exception, the ACS NCCRT aims to highlight free or not-for-profit fee events 

We will aim to feature as many submissions as we can in CRC News and on our social media channels (LinkedIn and X) during March 2026. Form submissions are due by 11:59pm ET, Friday, February 20, 2026


SECRC Consortium is Now Accepting Abstract Submissions 

This Year’s Conference Will Take Place in Charleston, SC 

The 10th Annual Southeastern Colorectal Cancer (SECRC) Consortium Conference will be held at the Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston, South Carolina on April 29 – May 1, 2026, and organizers are now calling for abstract submissions for their poster conference. Posters will be showcased throughout the 2.5-day conference, with attendees invited to vote for the Best Overall Poster Award during the Wednesday and Thursday receptions. The winning poster will be announced on Friday. 

  • Submission Deadline: Friday, February 27, 2026 at 11:59 PM (EST) 
  • Final Notifications: By the week of March 28, 2026

Prevent Cancer Dialogue Registration Open 

This Year’s Prevent Cancer Dialogue Will be Held In-Person in Arlington, VA 

The 2026 Prevent Cancer Dialogue: Community Impact Through Collaboration will be held in person May 7-8 at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel in Arlington, Virginia.  Early bird registration is open until March 16, 2026.  

Prevent Cancer Dialogues feature expert-led presentations, interactive Q&A sessions and peer-to-peer discussions, and will highlight topics such as:  

  • Current trends and looking ahead at cancer prevention: discussions to include multiple topics from dietary recommendations to genomics and precision prevention   
  • Innovative successes at the community level  
  • Harnessing AI tools to address patient populations and gaps in care, and patient perceptions as this technology progresses  
  • Landscape and direction of early detection, including interventions such as multi-cancer detection and biomarkers  
  • Current advocacy and policy issues   
  • State of the science overviews in breast, lung, colorectal, and liver cancers, HPV-associated cancers, and hepatitis B and C 

Partner and Member Events in March 

In advance of CRC Awareness Month this March, a few of our active members have provided events and announcements of their plans to raise awareness this year. Want to see your event, tool, or announcement in CRC News? Don’t forget to submit through this form.  

Colorectal Cancer Alliance 

  • Scope It Out: The Colorectal Cancer Alliance’s signature walk event will take place at the National Mall in Washington D.C. on March 22. Learn more and register at scopeitout.org, and share about it on social media   
  • Dress in Blue Day: Wear your blue on Dress in Blue Day on March 6! Then, take a photo and include the hashtag #DressInBlueDay on social media to raise CRC awarness. Learn more here

Fight Colorectal Cancer 

  • Virtual Day of Action: On March 3, Fight Colorectal Cancer (Fight CRC) will be hosting a virtual Day of Action in conjunction with Call-on Congress, their annual advocacy event in Washington, DC. Join advocates going to Capitol Hill in advocating for increased federal funding for CRC research.  Sign up here to be able to take action from home. 
  • Flag Kits: Bring Fight CRC’s United in Blue to your neighborhood with an at-home Flag Kit, which are perfect for front yards or community sites. Each kit includes everything your community needs to display a blue flag in support of raising awareness of early-onset CRC. Learn more here.  
  • Wall of Champions: Advocates can honor a loved one with a photo or short message as part of Fight CRC’s United in Blue event (March 1-2).  Tributes will be shown beside the flags, personalizing the statistics and recognizing the people behind them. To add a name, visit this link
