Newest ACS NCCRT Blue Star Conversation Registration Now Open
This Blue Star Conversation Explores Impacts to CRC Screening Following a Current Supreme Court Case Outcome
Register to join fellow ACS NCCRT members and Comprehensive Cancer Coalitions on Wednesday, July 9, from 1:00-2:00 PM ET for the latest ACS NCCRT Blue Star Conversation, titled “2025 Supreme Court Case Update: How Braidwood v. Kennedy Could Affect Insurance Coverage for CRC Screening.” The program will feature a non-partisan panel discussion of policy experts who will discuss the implications of the soon-to-be announced Braidwood v. Kennedy Supreme Court decision. Oral arguments for the case were heard in Spring of 2025 and examine the authority of the United States Preventative Services Task Force (USPSTF) to set provisions for most privately insured (and those covered by Medicaid expansion) people to receive preventative care without cost-sharing, including CRC screening. After the presentation, participants will have an opportunity to discuss the implications of the case and outcome, including how it may affect their work and services.
Registration is open to ACS NCCRT members and CDC’s Colorectal Cancer Control Program and Comprehensive Cancer Control Program grantees. Didn’t receive your invite via CRC News and you’re a member? Reach out to [email protected] to get access.
Registration Open: New Resource Webinar for ACS NCCRT CRC Screening in Rural Communities Best Practices Guidebook
Register Now to Preview ACS NCCRT’s Newest Best Practices Guidebook
People living in rural, remote, and frontier settings face higher CRC incidence and mortality rates, increased prevalence of risk factors associated with CRC, and unique barriers to cancer screenings when compared to non-rural residents. Next month, the ACS NCCRT will release a best practice guidebook designed to support key community partners in understanding and overcoming the unique challenges and common barriers to CRC screening faced in rural communities.
Register to join us for a webinar on Monday, July 28th from 3:00-4:00 PM ET to learn more about this upcoming resource and receive an overview of recent data and statistics that illustrate the burden of CRC in rural areas, an outline of the five recommended steps to increase CRC screening rates in rural communities, and a deep dive into best practices and lessons learned from two of our five exemplary case study site interviewees.
Speakers:
- Emily Bell, MPH, Director, ACS NCCRT (moderator)
- Mary Carson Brown, CHES, Project Coordinator, One Health Insights
- Cara Brown, MSN, MBA, RN, Population Health Nurse, Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation (Alaska)

LGBTQ+ Highlight: New Data in CRC Data Dashboard and ACS NCCRT Brief
Honor Pride Month by Engaging with ACS NCCRT Content Focused on the LGBTQ+ Community
The ACS NCCRT would like to highlight two resources focused on reaching the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, or other diverse sexual orientations or gender identities (LGBTQ+) community this June, including an update to a newer resource:
- This Pride Month, the ACS NCCRT is excited to begin offering data on gender identity and sexual orientation in the CRC Data Dashboard, which offers an interactive geospatial view of data pertaining to CRC in the United States. Click on “Layers” under the “More tools” section of the mapping tool to find the estimated total number and percent of adults that identify as LGBTQ+ in the US, by state, and within 15 metro areas.
- Last year, the ACS NCCRT published an update to our “Increasing CRC Screening Among LGBTQ+ Communities Brief”, which describes this community’s unique barriers to CRC screening and outlines action steps to support CRC screening in LGBTQ+ communities. It is intended for community-based organizations, health systems, and other organizations to use to better understand and serve LGBTQ+ members of their community. Learn more here.
Survivorship Highlight: Webinar Opportunity and ACS NCCRT Resource
Register For an Upcoming Webinar and View Our 80% in Every Community Brief for Survivors and Families
Cancer survivors are at the center of the work that we do at the ACS NCCRT. To recognize their importance this National Cancer Survivors Month, the ACS NCCRT is highlighting two survivorship-related opportunities for our members and partners:
- Join the ACS Comprehensive Cancer Coalitions (CCC) team on June 17 from 3-4 PM ET for a webinar titled, “Comprehensive Cancer Coalitions and the Evolving Landscape of Cancer Survivorship”, which will cover new standards for survivorship care and will share evidence and pragmatic use cases of how CCCs can improve the integration of survivorship-focused work into their cancer control plans and initiatives. Register here.
- The ACS NCCRT has produced a variety of briefs targeting specific communities, sharing how they can support the 80% in Every Community Campaign, including for survivors and families. Learn more here.
Our team would like to also share a heartfelt thank you to all the CRC survivors who have helped inform our work over the past 28 years, whether through resources, volunteer leadership, or sharing their stories. Your insight and commitment to advancing our shared goals is integral to the success of our work.
