Cost-effectiveness of Lynch Syndrome Screening in Colorectal Cancer: Universal Germline vs Sequential Screening

The session explored findings from a recent study on the cost-effectiveness of three Lynch syndrome (LS) screening strategies for patients with colorectal cancer (CRC): current standard practice, an optimized screening pathway, and universal upfront germline testing. The study found that increasing LS testing rates, including through universal germline testing, could be cost-effective, improve quality-adjusted life expectancy, and identify more individuals with Lynch syndrome.
