Welcome to the latest edition of CRC News, the American Cancer Society National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable (ACS NCCRT) newsletter for ACS NCCRT members and partners working together to save more lives from colorectal cancer (CRC).

2026-2029 ACS NCCRT Strategic Roadmap Launched April 1

The Roadmap Provides a Collective Vision Forward for the Roundtable

Last month, the ACS NCCRT was pleased to share our completed 2026-2029 ACS NCCRT Strategic Roadmap. This new roadmap expands our focus across the full colorectal cancer (CRC) continuum, strengthening our commitment to prevention, early detection, timely diagnosis, high quality treatment, and health equity. It reflects years of collaboration, listening, and learning, and it charts a clear path toward achieving greater and longer lasting impact.

To further discuss the purpose and plan for the roadmap, ACS NCCRT Strategic Director, Kaitlin Sylvester, MPA, published a blog for members and partners to learn more about it. Read the blog here.

“Our 2026–2029 Strategic Roadmap is a commitment to health equity. Together, we are charting a path that ensures every person—no matter who they are or where they live—has access to the lifesaving opportunities of CRC prevention, screening, and timely care.”  – Steven Itzkowitz, MD, FACP, FACG, AGAF, ACS NCCRT Chair

Educational Opportunity: Upcoming Project ECHO Sessions

The ACS ECHO Team is Offering Three New Cohorts to Partners

Three ECHO Cohorts have started or are about to start, are free, and open to onocology health care professionals.

Understanding Multi-Cancer Detection Testing ECHO – Cohort 2

Join the American Cancer Society (ACS) for an ECHO program on Understanding Multi-Cancer Detection Testing ECHO.  The goal of this program is to equip multidisciplinary cancer care team members and primary care clinicians with a foundational understanding of multi-cancer detection (MCD) tests and to support the evidence-based communication regarding these tests and their results in cancer screening. Sessions will be held once a month for one hour, starting April 28th through August 25th at 11am ET.  Register here.

Animal-Assisted Therapy in Cancer ECHO – Cohort 2

Join the ACS for Cohort 2 of an ECHO program on Animal-Assisted Therapy in Cancer ECHO. The program will emphasize the therapeutic benefits of animal-assisted therapy, particularly with facility dogs and their child life specialist handlers, in addressing the psychosocial needs of children and teens with cancer. By providing comfort, reducing pain and anxiety, and improving overall well-being during treatment, facility dogs play a vital role in supporting young cancer patients and their caregivers. This program is 6 months long with 1 hour-long sessions starting June 2026 through November 2026. Fill out the interest form here to receive more information on registration once the program goes live.

Long-Term Survivorship ECHO

Join the ACS for an ECHO program for our Long-Term Survivorship ECHO.  The goal of this program is to equip health care professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively address the complex and evolving long-term needs of people with cancer. The target audience for this program is multidisciplinary care teams, inclusive of oncology and primary care, that deliver supportive care for patients living with and beyond cancer. Sessions will be held once a month for one hour, starting in June 2026 through November 2026. If you have any questions or want more information, feel free to email [email protected].
