Welcome to this latest edition of CRC News, the American Cancer Society National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable (ACS NCCRT) periodic newsletter for ACS NCCRT members and partners working toward our shared goal to reach 80% in Every Community.

Last Chance to Submit a Nomination for the 2025 ACS NCCRT National Achievement Awards

Awards Highlight Exemplary Efforts to Increase CRC Screening

The annual call for the ACS NCCRT 80% in Every Community National Achievement Awards closes on December 6, 2024 at 11:59pm ET. The awards are a competitive recognition program that seeks to highlight colorectal cancer (CRC) screening success stories. We welcome nominations from those who have reached 80% screened for CRC, but we are also looking to recognize others who are seeing noted improvements in baseline screening rates or recognize individual champions who have made a difference through leadership or other means.

Each award winner receives a monetary award to support continued efforts to increase CRC screenings, as well as having their work highlighted throughout the next year by the ACS NCCRT on a national stage. These include speaking at our 2025 Annual Meeting and blogs highlighting the work throughout the year.

Submissions close this Friday, December 6, at 11:59pm ET. Nominate yourself or other partners—multiple nominations are accepted!—for the 2025 80% in Every Community National Achievement Awards and highlight CRC screening successes!

Fight Colorectal Cancer Releases New Report on Colorectal Cancer Care

The Colorectal Cancer Care Report Provides Actionable Goals

Fight Colorectal Cancer, an ACS NCCRT member organization, released their Colorectal Cancer Care Report on November 19.  The report is the first major effort of the Colorectal Cancer Care Initiative (CRCCI) and a response to a critical gap in colorectal cancer care. As part of the CRCCI, Fight CRC has developed a set of goals that serve as tools for health systems and the CRC community to assess progress, identify gaps, and make meaningful improvements.
