Recording Available for Our Latest Blue Star Conversation

This Blue Star Conversation Explores the Outcome of a Recent Supreme Court Case and No-Cost Screenings

The ACS NCCRT held its latest Blue Star Conversation on Wednesday, July 9, titled “2025 Supreme Court Case Update: How Braidwood v. Kennedy Could Affect Insurance Coverage for CRC Screening.” The members-only program featured a non-partisan panel discussion of policy experts who discussed the implications and what comes next after the recently announced Braidwood v. Kennedy Supreme Court decision. The case examined the authority of the United States Preventative Services Task Force (USPSTF) to set provisions for most privately insured (and those covered by Medicaid expansion) people to receive preventative care without cost-sharing, including CRC screening. Slides and the recording of the session are now available in the ACS NCCRT resource library.

New Public Service Announcement Campaign from the Colorectal Cancer Alliance

The Campaign Promotes CRC Prevention and Screening in English and Spanish

To address findings from their latest State of Screening study, the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, a longtime ACS NCCRT member organization, has launched a new public service announcement campaign called Preventable. The television and radio spots are in Spanish and English and aim to counteract recent statistics showing that CRC is a leading cause of cancer death among people of Hispanic descent, and the incidence of early-onset tumors has risen more rapidly in this population than in any other racial and ethnic group in the nation.

ICYMI: New CRC Testing Videos from the ACS

The Free Videos Can Be Used in Clinical or Community Settings to Educate Patients

The ACS NCCRT recently added a newly released suite of six educational YouTube videos from the ACS for partners to use to educate community members about the types of tests for CRC screening to our resource library. The videos, which are available in English and Spanish, describe colonoscopy, Fecal Immunochemical Tests (FITs), and stool DNA-FITs and how a patient would use them, including prep. They are available on the ACS YouTube channel and now in our resource library under “American Cancer Society Colorectal Cancer Resources for Patients and Clinicians”.

Many thanks for the great work you do!
