Highlighting Resources, Events, and Impact for the ACS NCCRT in 2025
This past year has been a big one for the ACS NCCRT, and our team wanted to create a roundup of our best moments for 2025. Scroll through to view our newest colorectal cancer (CRC) resources, events, and members.
- Resources:
- Increasing CRC Screening in Rural Communities: A Practical Guide – This guidebook was developed to support key community partners in understanding and overcoming the unique challenges and common barriers to CRC screening faced in rural communities.
- Clinician’s Reference: Stool-Based Tests for CRC Screening – This newly updated resource is designed to introduce (or reintroduce) clinicians to the value of stool-based testing for CRC. It explains the different types of stool-based tests available and provides guidance on implementing high quality stool-based screening programs.
- American Cancer Society: A CRC Screening Guide for Cancer Coalitions – This guide from the American Cancer Society (ACS) can help build your coalition’s capacity to address CRC screening, especially related to cancer control planning.

- Annual Meeting: We hosted almost 200 attendees at our 2025 Annual Meeting in Nashville, TN. Attendees came from 36 states and territories.
- Steering Committee: We welcomed two new Steering Committee members at our 2025 Annual Meeting, Dionne Christopher, PMP, and Melinda (Mindy) Conklin, MS, MEd.
- ACS NCCRT Members: We added 11 new members and corporate associates this year, bringing the total number of ACS NCCRT members to over 240.
- 2025 ACS NCCRT National Achievement Awards: Five nominations were selected and highlighted throughout the year as part of our 2025 Awards program. Want to be highlighted in 2026? Nominations are now open!

As part of a series, the ACS NCCRT is thrilled to highlight our last 2025 National Achievement Award winner with an in-depth blogs on their work. This time, we are focusing on Peoples Health, a Medicare Advantage organization serving beneficiaries in the state of Louisiana. After setting a goal of 81% screened for CRC, they have continuously reached 74.57%, 74.59% and 75.11% screened in 2023, 2024, and 2025, respectively. To learn more about their thoughtful approach to engaging other payors in the state, meeting those they serve where they are, lessons learned, and what was essential to their success, read their guest blog today!
Submit Your Success Story for a 2026 ACS NCCRT National Achievement Award
The Awards Nomination Form Will Be Open Until January 7
The ACS NCCRT recently announced our annual call for nominations for the National Achievement Awards, a competitive recognition program. The Awards seek to highlight those who are dedicating their time, talent and expertise to reduce the incidence of and mortality from CRC in the US through coordinated leadership, strategic planning, and advocacy screening success stories. Previous awardees have included individual clinician champions, survivors, health systems, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), cancer coalitions, and a wide variety of other entities. Learn about last year’s awardees here.
Each award winner receives a monetary award to support continued efforts to affect CRC in the community they serve, as well as having their work highlighted throughout the next year by the ACS NCCRT on a national stage. Submissions are open until Wednesday, January 7, at 11:59pm ET. Don’t wait for the new year to start though – submit a nomination today!

2025 ACS NCCRT Annual Meeting Slides and Recordings Available
Select Content Can Be Shared with Partners or Colleagues
The ACS NCCRT is pleased to announce that select recordings and slides are now available on our website from our 2025 Annual Meeting, held in Nashville, TN from November 19-21. We have also created a YouTube playlist from the meeting for ease of access, and an executive summary of the meeting will be available in the new year on the event webpage as well. Please feel free to share with partners and colleagues who were not able to attend this year’s meeting. Not a member and want to attend the meeting next year? Learn more about membership and apply.
We want to extend one last thank you to all the staff, volunteers, ACS NCCRT leadership, and speakers who made this year’s meeting possible. Without you, we wouldn’t be seeing the great feedback we’re receiving in our meeting evaluation and we look forward to incorporating it in future meetings.
Webinar: Virtual Tour of the ACS Cancer Screening Disparity Atlas
The Session is Designed to Be Interactive and Questions Are Encouraged
Join the ACS for a live virtual tour of the ACS Cancer Screening Disparity Atlas, a state-of-the-art dashboard developed by the Geospatial Solutions and Early Detections teams. The Dashboard can help uncover gaps in cancer screening and outcomes through interactive maps, data, and insights related to Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). The session, set for January 14, 2026 at 2:30pm EST on Zoom, is designed to be interactive after a tour of the tool, so bring your questions!
