Learn About the Cost-Effectiveness of CRC Screening for Those With Lynch Syndrome
Join fellow ACS NCCRT members on Wednesday, August 26 from 2:00-3:00 PM ET for: “Cost-effectiveness of Lynch Syndrome Screening in Colorectal Cancer: Universal Germline vs Sequential Screening.” The program will be introduced and moderated by Heather Hampel, MS, CGC, Associate Director of the Division of Clinical Cancer Genomics and Professor in the Department of Medical Oncology & Therapeutics Research at City of Hope, and will feature a presentation by Xavier Llor, MD, PhD, Professor of Medicine and Director, GI and Pancreatic Cancer Prevention Program, Digestive Diseases, at Yale School of Medicine.
This session is designed to be interactive, and registration is open exclusively to ACS NCCRT members.

As part of a series, the ACS NCCRT is thrilled to highlight one of our honorees for the 2026 National Achievement Awards with an in-depth blog on their work. This month’s blog comes from the Links to Care Program at MNGI, with a mission to prevent and detect colorectal cancer (CRC) by offering free colonoscopies to uninsured individuals through partnerships with Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) across the Twin Cities metropolitan area of Minnesota. Beginning as a pilot program in 2014-2015 in partnership with local field staff of the American Cancer Society (ACS), MNGI has continuously improved their processes and expanded their Links to Care program to 12 clinics, offering over 1,000 free colonoscopies. NCQA Issues New Follow-Up Colonoscopy Measure
The New Measure Promotes Completed Colonoscopy After a Positive or Abnormal Non-Invasive Test
The National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA) recently leased their 2027 Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS ©) measures, which include a new measure covering a topic of particular interest for our members and partners: Follow-up colonoscopy. NCQA sets the standard reporting requirements for health plan accreditation and Patient-Centered Medical Homes (PCMHs) recognition. Starting in measurement year 2027, these entities will have to report on the percentage of persons 45–75 years of age who received a colonoscopy for a positive colorectal cancer non-invasive screening test. The measure is being implemented to increase completion of the CRC screening process and hopes to reduce delays in follow-up colonoscopy and appropriate treatment.
Partners and members may find resources to help their clinical teams or those they work with meet these requirements in the ACS NCCRT resource center.
HRSA Releases Newest UDS Data Showing Increases in CRC Screening
UDS Data Covers FQHCs and Look-Alikes and Shows an Almost 2.5% Jump in CRC Screening for Those Eligible
The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) recently updated their data cache to include reporting from 2025, which tracks CRC screening rates in FQHCs across the country. FQHCs and their look-alikes in the program are community-based, provide a full range of care, and adjust their fees based on income and family size, reaching those most vulnerable in our communities. In 2025, the HRSA Uniform Data System (UDS) data updates show an almost 2.5% increase in CRC screening for those eligible, reaching 44.89%. This increase almost closes the gap in screening percentages created by the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the change in total eligible for CRC screening when guidelines moved from age 50 to 45 in 2023. In celebration of this new data and NHCW, the ACS NCCRT would like to extend warm congratulations to our members and partners who continue to improve our CRC screening rates in health centers across the nation and in their communities!

- The Navigation Reimbursement Principal Illness Navigation Codes (PIN) Pulse Survey is currently open, and we encourage you to take a few minutes to share your organization’s experiences and perspectives across all stages of reimbursement implementation.
- The ACS Primary Care Clinical Champion Corps is a program for primary care clinicians (MDs, DOs, PAs, and NPs) who will receive training, resources, and peer-to-peer engagement to help educate and motivate clinical peers to activate cancer prevention and early detection knowledge and interventions. Registration for the sessions are open until August 25, 2026.
