CRC News: March 4, 2025

Welcome to this latest edition of CRC News, the American Cancer Society National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable (ACS NCCRT) periodic newsletter for ACS NCCRT members and partners working toward our shared goal to reach 80% in Every Community.
Congratulations to the 2025 ACS NCCRT National Achievement Award Winners!
Five Organizations from Across the US Have Been Chosen for Their Work to Increase CRC Screening
Today the ACS NCCRT is honoring five organizations for their extraordinary work to increase colorectal cancer (CRC) screening rates across the U.S. with the 2025 National Achievement Award. This award is a prestigious national honor with a history of recognizing organizations and individuals for their distinguished, ongoing efforts to improve CRC outcomes in their communities. This year’s recipients include Erie Family Health Centers (Federally Qualified Health Center), Georgia Center for Oncology Research and Education (a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention CRC Control Program), Marshall (Health System), Peoples Health (Health Plan), and Project 80% at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (Screening Program).
“The call to increase colorectal cancer screening rates has never been more urgent than today and we applaud our honorees who have stepped up to help save lives,” said Steven Itzkowitz, MD, gastroenterologist with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and NCCRT chair. “We are proud of the work our honorees have done and will continue to do in the fight to reduce the incidence of and mortality from colorectal cancer.” We hope you will join us in recognizing their accomplishments by viewing and sharing the press release, amplifying our posts on social media (X and LinkedIn), and registering to learn more about these distinguished honorees during our annual Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month Webcast on March 12 at 2 PM ET!
