Welcome to this latest edition of CRC News, the American Cancer Society National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable (ACS NCCRT) periodic newsletter for ACS NCCRT members and partners working toward our shared goal to reach 80% in Every Community.

ICYMI: Nominations Open for the 2025 ACS NCCRT National Achievement Awards

Awards Highlight Exemplary Efforts to Increase CRC Screening

At the end of October, the ACS NCCRT announced our annual call for nominations for the 80% in Every Community National Achievement Awards, a competitive recognition program that seeks to highlight colorectal cancer (CRC) screening success stories. We welcome nominations from those who have reached 80% screened for CRC, but we are also looking to recognize others who are seeing noted improvements in baseline screening rates or recognize individual champions who have made a difference through leadership or other means.

Each award winner receives a monetary award to support continued efforts to increase CRC screenings, as well as having their work highlighted throughout the next year by the ACS NCCRT on a national stage. These include speaking at our 2025 Annual Meeting and blogs highlighting the work throughout the year.

Submissions are open until Friday, December 6, at 11:59pm ET. Nominate yourself or other partners—multiple nominations are accepted!—for the 2025 ACS NCCRT’s 80% in Every Community National Achievement Awards and highlight CRC screening successes!

The Roundtable is Seeking a New Strategic Director

The American Cancer Society National Navigation Roundtable (ACS NNRT) is hiring for a new Strategic Director, who provides thought-leadership and strategic development in sustainable patient navigation programs for the ACS NNRT. Resource Spotlight: Risk Assessment and Screening Toolkit

This ACS NCCRT Resource Addresses Detecting Familial, Hereditary and Early Onset Colorectal Cancer

As the holiday season and gatherings with loved ones approach, the ACS NCCRT wants to highlight an older resource that may be top of mind for clinicians and public health professionals: our Risk Assessment and Screening Toolkit. This ACS NCCRT signature resource aims to improve the ability of primary care clinicians to systematically collect, document, and act on a family history of CRC and adenomas polyps, while also educating clinicians on the need for more timely diagnostic testing for young adults who present with alarm signs or symptoms of CRC and ensuring that those patients receive a proper diagnostic work up. It serves a comprehensive, step-by-step guide to improve operations within practices and suggests many useful resources and tools to aid these changes. Download the toolkit today or watch the recent Blue Star Conversation about it to help frame discussions with patients and renew your practice’s workflows and focus on risk assessment, and hereditary and early-age onset CRC.
